The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the Common University Entrance Test (CUET (UG)-2024), an all-India exam, for admission to a variety of undergraduate programmes at Central Universities under the Ministry of Education as well as other participating Universities / Institutions / Organisations / Autonomous Colleges.

Candidates from all over the nation, especially those from rural and other remote locations, will have equitable access to a shared platform and chances through the shared University Entrance Test (CUET), which will also provide improved connections with universities. The candidates will be able to cover a broad breadth and participate in the admissions process to many Central Universities with just one examination.

CUET UG-2024 Registration eligibility criteria:

Age Limit: Candidates do not have to have a certain age to appear in the CUET (UG) through 2024.

Educational Requirements: The CUET (UG) – 2024 test is open to applicants, regardless of age, who have passed the class 12 or equivalent exam or who are appearing in 2024. Nonetheless, in order to be considered for admission, candidates must meet any age requirements set forth by the university, institution, or organisation.

For CUET (UG) – 2024, fees will be charged based on the number of subjects chosen by the candidates. The following fee structure is applicable for CUET (UG) – 2024 :

CUET Examination scheme:

Name of exam: CUET (UG) – 2024

Total subjects: 
61 (33 languages, 27 domain-specific, and 01 General Test)

Choice of Test Paper: Maximum 06 Test papers (04 or 05 domain subjects including General Test and 01 or 02 languages). Candidates may choose a maximum 06 Subjects including languages (Indian and Foreign) and General Test

Note: It is advisable for candidates to select at least one language.

Medium of the Test: 13 languages (Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu)

Total Questions: 
40 out of 50 questions for all test papers and 50 out of 60 for the General Test (choice of 10 questions). Duration for all test papers would be 45 minutes except for Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, Accountancy, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Computer Science/Informatics Practices, and General Tests which would be 60 minutes.

CUET-UG Exam syllabus:

Language: Language to be tested through Reading Comprehension (based on different types of passages–Factual, Literary and Narrative, and Literary Aptitude and Vocabulary.

Domain Subject: As given on NTA website .

General Test: General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning (Simple application of basic mathematical concepts Arithmetic / Algebra / Geometry / Mensuration / Statistics), Logical and Analytical Reasoning.
