Selection Process of India Post GDS Recruitment
Step 1 :
Candidates will be chosen for the position based on a computer-generated merit list, which will be created using the marks obtained or the conversion of Grades/Points to marks from the 10th standard Secondary School Examination conducted by approved Boards. The marks will be aggregated into a percentage with accuracy to four decimal places. Meeting the passing criteria for all subjects as per the approved board norms is obligatory.
Step 2 :
Candidates selected for recruitment must participate in the document verification process to finalize their recruitment. Shortlisted candidates must have their documents verified by the designated divisional head on or before the specified date. It is essential for candidates to bring all relevant original documents for verification. Shortlisted candidates are granted a period of 15 days to submit their documents for verification.
During the document verification, if any discrepancies are found between the data/marks entered in the Portal and the original documents, the candidate’s application may be rejected, even for minor errors such as spelling mistakes in the name of the applicant, father/mother’s name, etc.
Step 3 : After successfully completing the document verification, a candidate will be appointed as a Gramin Dak Sevak within the area of the respective division. The provisional engagement offer will be sent through the system itself (via registered SMS/Email) upon successful document verification. The applicant must then contact the designated Engaging Authorities within 15 days.
